Current Herpetology is the official journal of the Herpetological Society of Japan, and publishes original research articles, short notes, and reviews on biology and diversity of amphibians and reptiles in any regions of the world. Begun in 2000, the journal continues Acta Herpetologica Japonica (1964-1971) and Japanese Journal of Herpetology (1972-1999).

Ornithological Science is the official journal of the Ornithological Society of Japan. The journal publishes reviews, original articles, short communications and comments covering all aspects of ornithology. Begun in 2002,BioOne includes issues published 2005 to present.
Paleonotological Research (PR) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed international journal and focuses on original contributions dealing with paleontology and widely ranged allied sciences. It has been published since 1997 as a succession of the former journal Transactions and Proceedings of the Palaeontological Society of Japan. Contributions will emphasize global to local aspects and can cover all ages (Precambrian to the Quaternary, including modern analogs).
Zoological Science is published by the Zoological Society of Japan and devoted to publication of original articles, reviews, and essays in the broad field of zoology. The journal was founded in 1984 as a result of the consolidation of Zoological Magazine (1888–1983) and Annotationes Zoologicae Japonenses (1897–1983), the former official journals of the Zoological Society of Japan. Each annual volume consists of twelve regular monthly issues.
